Family
It was great catching up with a good 'ole friend' after so long. AlhamdulilLah, he gives good, logical advice...Yes, I admit sometimes women tend to be irrational although the degree of rationality is subjective, ha! Subhan Allah, that is the fitrah of women, different from men :)
Anyway, have a safe flight, take care and see you real soon. Hugs and kisses to mama Zehra and papa Hasan. TaqabbalLahu minna wa minkum, taqabalLahu ya Karim, minal aidin wal faizin :)

Mama
"The heart of a mother is a deep abyss, at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness. For a mother is the only person on earth who can divide her love among her children and each child still have all her love. For a mother's love grows by giving."
A tribute to my light, my strength... no words of gratitude could do justice for all that you've done.

Appreciation
Masya Allah, thanks for this dedication and the early birthday greetings. Indeed a nice song from a talent who can strum the guitar, play the piano and pen beautiful lyrics. All I can say is that it is not the wait that matters, if its meant to be, it will happen. Truly, we plan with the best of intentions but the fact of the matter is Allah knows what is best for His servants.
Afternote: Richard Marx, Bryan Adams are just among those evergreen musicians that I used to admire during my youth... he has a collection of beautiful songs with meaningful lyrics, some of which I can truly relate to :)

Qaisarah Batrisyia
[Courtesy of cousin Wahyudi Othman]
AlhamdulilLah. On the morning of 10 April 2010, my cousin and his wife became proud parents of this adorable baby girl, Qaisarah Batrisyia. May she grow up to be the intelligent queen (as her name suggests) with a heart filled with wisdom, ameen.
Afterthought: With Faris and Qaisarah, the extended family continues to grow... awaiting the confirmation of another 'impending arrival' :)

GrandPa
Grandpa was constantly at the back of my mind simply because today is his special day. AlhamdulilLah, alhamdulilLah, alhamdulilLah... after going for regular therapy, he seems to have regained his health after a bout of lymphoma-pneumonia remission. May Allah SWT bless this great man and place him among the ihsanul kamil in jannatul firdaus, ameen ya Rabbal a'lamin.

365
January came and is about to leave us. Alot has happened this month - some people are departing, some are transferring, some remain true to their conviction, some just gave up trying. Whichever camp you belong to, its your life and you have approximately 344 days to live it so take control.
I shall leave you with an interesting video about how the year, month and day were derived (subhan Allah!):
P/S: Happy birthday to dear SS, SL, YB and Azhar :)

Birthday Boy Irfan
Here's my warmest birthday wish to Irfan *muah*
Allow me to share this quote (thanks to u, u know who u are):
Allow me to share this quote (thanks to u, u know who u are):
In modesty and humility, be like the earth.
In tolerance, be like the sea.
In generosity and helping others, be like the river.
In compassion and grace, be like the sun.
In concealing others' faults, be like the night.
And in anger and fury, be like the dead.

Analogy...
There are things I'd like to say to you on your special day... I am forever thankful God sent you my way. Like a gift from up above, you showed me how it is to feel real love... unconditional love. I know many mountains we've had to climb and sometimes forever has seemed like a very long time... never devoid of misunderstandings; we are only human... and sometimes I wish you open up to me more, let me in to share your burden, instead of facing the tribulations of life alone. Yes, we've endured our share of pain, but together we have so much to gain. Bigger mountains may lie ahead, but together there is no hill we cannot tread. So always remember, and there is nothing together we can not do. I'll be here forever - my love is true. The person beside me, that would be you...
PS: Mama, Happy Birthday [060906].

A Special Talent
If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. - Henry David Thoreau
Today, I am feeling torn yet am so glad for this special talent as he is finally moving on in the direction of his passion. There's no one quite like him. No words could express how I feel so I shall stop here (as it is, the rainy weather has spoken on my behalf). Storm, I'll miss cuddly you...
With that, here's a tribute to my dear friend (you know who you are):
Le cher ami, dans si peu d'heure que je vous ai connu, une amitié plus profonde naît. Maintenant, vous serez des milles de distance. Si on avance avec confiance dans la direction de ses rêves, et d'efforts de vivre la vie où il a imaginée, il rencontrera un succès inattendu en heures communes. Par conséquent, ce n'est pas un triste au revoir, mais vous voit bientôt car je choisis de croire que nos chemins croiseront encore un certain jour. Salut et tout le meilleur. Vous serez manqué.

Inamorata...
Precious shared this with me some time back...
Afterthought: Am glad most of the guys in the office shared my personal, not to mention, practical view that the current generation has lost the true essence of V Day. It is now no more than a commercial sham that attracts, well, the easily conned, ha! Don't get us wrong... this is not a vent (actually, I don't celebrate V day). Tim quoted that if everyone buys chocs/flowers on this day, how can the recipient be anyone more special than his/her next neighbour? Act of love/sacrifice should be done sincerely everyday... hmmm... lucky wife of his. And what do you know, I got a Roche flower at that! ;P
Without Love, days are:
"Moanday"
"Tearsday"
"Wasteday"
"Thirstday"
"Frightday"
"Shatterday"
"Sadday"...
So, fall in love! ;P

Canada Beckons...
Wednesday 21 Dec 2005:
Funny how, sometimes, you dream of a situation and then it 'replays' right in front of your eyes - premonition? Perhaps. Time: 5.10AM. Felt a wee bit awkward for not 'reciprocating' his outstretched arms for a farewell hug. For the love of God, I had to refrain from doing so (its not permissible in Islam, hope he understands).
Anyway, I'll pray that he has a safe journey to and fro Canada and that he will spend quality time with family and friends over the festive season. Can't wait to view the pictures! It would have been lovely if C actually bid him farewell...
In retrospect, I really pull my hats off to those who travel the world for work and actually take the time to travel half the globe to be with family and friends during special occassions; It takes a lot of discipline to do so.
I've always have this inkling feeling, a desire to explore the world, work elsewhere and gain the experience while learning a different culture and appreciating God's gift of diverse humanity or retire in a foreign land by leading a simple yet quality life... wishful thinking? Nothing is impossible...
PS: Hope he is not anywhere near the Toronto incident...

Gift suggestions (or for any other day):
To your enemy, forgiveness.
To an opponent, tolerance.
To a friend, your heart.
To a customer, service.
To all, charity.
To every child, a good example.
To yourself, respect. - Oren Arnold
